Antes se daba a luz en casa. En Arandigoyen atendía los partos un practicante de Villatuerta. En el pueblo no tenían teléfono y tenían que ir a Villatuerta para poder utilizarlo. Antes era muy común que se muriese un recién nacido o un niño pequeño. Cuando esto sucedía había un toque de campanas especial. Se decía que estaban "tocando a mortichuelo".
