This paper is about discussing how Pansori is being passed down and should be developed. Thesubject of this study in transmission of Pansori is the holders of intangible cultural heritage in Pansori, master singers of Pansori, schools and organizations of handing down Pansori, festivals and contestsof Pansori and so on. And result of this research showed that a system, which hands down Pansori, was well constructed in Jeonbok region by comparison with other regions in South Korea.Nevertheless, traditional culture related persons think that this system is weak. Therefore, the aimof this paper is to propose practical alternatives about development plan of Pansori, considering suchproblem in Jeonbuk region.Even though Jeonbuk has a strong system for vitalization of Pansori, the reason why traditionalculture related persons still believe that resources are lack might be fragmentation of resourceswithout organic connection. In other words, the problem is not to know how to use abundant resources. Traditional culturerelated persons try to find things in the outside or for outside, leaving good things in the inside. However, it is important to chose substance before appearance. There is not tradition, which isradically changed and developed. The tradition has variously changed based on a firm foundationand will be further developed. Therefore, for development of Pansori, this paper suggests six alternatives. First is to recruit mastersingers actively into Jeonbok region. Second is to elevate self-esteem of holders of intangible culturalheritage in Jeonbok region. Third is to expand the base of Pansori, discovering schools of Pansori whichis not designated as intangible cultural property and master singers. Fourth is to strength programthat brings up young cultural transmitters. Fifth is to assign professional workforce of intangiblecultural heritage in administrative agency. Sixth is to create enjoying Pansori in Jeonbok region. However, development plans for Pansori suggested in this paper are not at all new; these areproposed by several people, and these are ‘things that we never been practiced’ even thougheveryone knows these.
