Although art and traditional art is usually distinguished, the confluences and concomitances between the too are many. It seems a symetric relationship to the one established between written, learned literature and oral tradition, distinguishing a big and a small tradition. Traditional art, inseparably linked to craftswork (shepherds on their own represent a rich exception), uses adornments anddecorations that are inspired on paintings, sculptures, architecture very often present in local places. As a result the graphic investigation realised in these local places gathers both manifestations, although the focus has been on the decorated craftworks and on the name, materials, techniques and design of the ornaments.
