The Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003), as a step to safeguard intangible cultural heritage, is a convention that has impact on approaches to safeguarding of culture and museum studies. The purpose of this paper is to emphasize the place and importance of intangible cultural heritage museums in cultural heritage education through the example of Ankara Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum and to assess the learning applications which are prepared for student groups in the museum. Case study has been applied as research method in this study and techniques of observation, interview and document review have been used. One of the biggest target groups of Ankara Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum is student groups of elementary schools and therefore, the study focuses on the applications aimed at this target group. As it is expressed in the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, museums have become one of the out-of-school education environments. Additionally, along with cultural heritage education, museums include applications and workshops devoted to contribution to physical and mental development of children in their programs. It has been identified that, these workshops are planned as effective education programs and so that, visitors are involved in active learning process.
