En la parroquia se creó la Asociación de Mujeres, estuvo formada por Mercedes, Nieves que era asistenta social y otras mujeres. Luego se abrió a otras mujeres y también a un grupo de feministas. Reivindicaban muchas cosas, sobre todo libertad, derecho al voto y al trabajo. En esa época las mujeres estaban siempre en casa.
