Lucía nació en Tafalla en 1939. Le pusieron de nombre Lucía porque era el nombre de una tía suya que se fue de monja de clausura. Su madre era de Eslava y su padre de San Martín, se dedicaban al campo y también ejercieron de matachines de cerdos. Lucía fue la tercera de cuatro hermanos.
