Antes de hacer carbón vendía mucha leña que cogía sin marcar lotes, la leña de entonces era menuda y no se podían hacer lotes. Entonces estaba el monte bastante pelado, iba mucha gente a por leña. Intentaron poner una carbonera en Olaz pero les dijeron que no.
