Su madre trabajó mucho y él con 10 años empezó también. En el 46 hubo una cosecha muy grande y fue cuando empezó a trillar con burros. Empezó a espigar con su madre, a buscar aceitunas... Con 16 años segaba para algunas casas y decidió irse a Brazatortas a seguir segando. Salió muy joven de su pueblo a buscarse la vida.
